The short of it is that I’m a North East Texas boy (Gladewater) who loves Jesus and the Outdoors. I’ve been hunting since before I could walk… literally. There are pictures of me being carried on my first coon hunt at age 1. Only to be capture falling asleep on top on an old blue-tick hound we had.
Spent my entire life hunting, fishing, shooting, camping, hiking, etc… I prefer bow hunting. (Mathews DXT)
I am radically in love with my wife Stephanie and our 4 boys – Caleb, Josiah, Levi, and Silas. My love for Jesus and the outdoors has fueled my life and taken us from Texas to California to Florida and now back to Texas.
I am blessed to have a Bachelor of Science in Forestry from Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas with an emphasis in Forest Recreation and Wildlife Biology and a Master’s in Christian Education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth.
Stephanie and I have been serving the local church together over the past 15 years; including, Fielder Road, Saddleback Church, Christ Fellowship, and Friends Church. Also serving on the Faculty of Rockbridge Seminary – a fully-online seminary. Prior to pastoring I served the corporate world as a Professional Forester for Stone Container Corporation (now Smurfit Stone) and Jeff Neil Timberland Management.
During 2009-2010 while serving at Christ Fellowship in south Florida a member of the church Jeff Wait Okeechobee Shooting Sports allowed me the great privilege of serving as the “Range Chaplain” at his outdoor range. From there Chaplain to the Outdoorsmen was born.
Over the past several years Chaplain to the Outdoorsmen has continued to grow as we reclaim the masculine hearts of men through outdoor adventures. God is continuing to open doors as we move toward an Outdoor TV Show (Man Up Outdoors with Kerry Mackey) on a major network in 2014.
We look forward to serving you.
